In a recent but too short visit to the cradle of the american revolution, I happened to visit a few cigar friendly places.

Here’s what I found:

First, in the up north Italian district called « Little Italy », on Hanover Street,

I discovered a nice cigar bar and lounge called Stanza dei Sigari.

292 Hanover Street, Boston, Ma 02113 Tel: 617-227-0295. www.stanzadeisigari.com

The place is busy from opening to closing with people

from all walks of life who come for a moment of relaxation

while enjoying a cocktail and a cigar. The personnel is

knowledgeable, smiling and those girls will ask you

questions about your tastes before offering you what

they think you will like. In terms of choices, the cars

contains around 50 vitolas ranging from $12., up to $35.or so.

Personnally I enjoyed an Arturo Fuente Hemmingway

cigar that was excellent, coupled with a coffee Martini that was also very goodI must say.

Very good pairing according to me.The humidor is stocked with more products than those offered on the cigar card

but it is not the widest choice I’ve seen in a Lounge bar. The cocktail and Martini list is excellent.Service is excellent

and cigarette smoking is allowed too. No expresso coffee machine in the place though. Strange in an Italian bar!

A good place to either watch some sports with friends or spend time enjoying life more quietly with people

you like around a good vitola.

Established in 1870, this cigar and pipe shop imposes respect and shows lots of tradition. With its yellowished walls,

you can tell it’s history in the making. Hanging on those walls are ancient posters, photos of celebrities who visited

the shop back then and all sorts of old and new smoking accessories for cigar and pipe smoking.

Just open the door and you are kind of sucked in a big time warp. Once inside, the personnel is handsome,

specialized and very knowledgeable. They are willing to spend all the time you need to help you make your selection

with friendly advices and support. You can also, in case you know what yo want, go from one humidor to another and grab,

check smell ant touch your upcoming purchase since, besides the closed humidors, the whole place is humidified.

And yes, you can smoke inside! As for the cigar choice, it is wide and on the more classical brands side of things.

The do carry some new releases but few of that more flashy stuff that’s on the market these days as well as older vitolas

and a rarities. Accordingly, you will also find all other cigar accessories needed for the enjoyment of your favorite vitola.

And they ship all over the world including Canada where they ship regularly. Just ask Tom! Prices are very affordable and competitive. I do definitely recommend L.J Perretti co.to all serious cigars and pipe smokers.

Here’s the selection I made and brought back home:
